Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

The Feast of Saints Anne and Joachim (the parents of the Virgin Mary and grandparents of Jesus)

JULY 26, 2026

Today’s hymns beautifully unite the themes of the 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time with the Feast of St. Anne. We begin by placing our trust in God, our constant refuge through every generation, while honoring St. Anne, whose faith helped prepare the way for our Savior. The Responsorial Psalm reminds us to love and live by God’s commandments, and the Gospel Acclamation calls us to receive the wisdom of God’s Kingdom with the humble hearts of little children. As we offer ourselves to God in “Drawn to You,” we renew our desire to follow His will. In Holy Communion, the Beatitudes remind us that true blessedness is found in lives of humility, mercy, and holiness. Finally, we joyfully honor St. Anne, the beloved mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary, thanking God for her faithful example and asking for her prayers as we strive to grow in faith and pass it on to future generations.
