Music Reflection – Fourth Sunday of Easter (April 25 & 26, 2026)
On this Fourth Sunday of Easter, often called Good Shepherd Sunday, our hymns gently lead us into the heart of Christ, our Shepherd. We begin with joyful praise in “Alleluia! Alleluia! Let the Holy Anthem Rise,” lifting our voices in Easter triumph and proclaiming the risen Lord.
The Psalm reminds us with deep assurance, “The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want,” grounding us in trust and peace. In the Gospel Acclamation, we hear Christ’s own voice: “I am the Good Shepherd… I know my sheep and mine know me,” inviting us into a personal relationship with Him.
As we prepare the gifts, “Shepherd Me, O God” becomes our prayer of surrender, asking to be led beside still waters and guided in righteousness. In Communion, “There Is a Longing” expresses the deepest desire of every heart: to be filled, known, and united with God.
Finally, we are sent forth with “Tell the Good News,” carrying the joy of the Resurrection beyond the walls of the church, proclaiming that our Shepherd lives and continues to guide His people.
