AUGUST 1 & 2, 2026
As we celebrate the 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time, our hymns remind us that Christ alone satisfies the deepest hunger of the human heart. We begin with “I Heard the Voice of Jesus,” responding to His invitation to come to Him for rest, healing, and new life. The Responsorial Psalm assures us that the Lord graciously feeds His people and answers all our needs, while the Gospel Acclamation reminds us that true life comes not only from earthly bread but from every word that comes from the mouth of God. During the Offertory, “Be Not Far from Me” becomes our heartfelt prayer, asking God to remain close to us in every trial and never leave our side. At Communion, “Behold the Lamb” invites us to receive Jesus, the Bread of Life, who nourishes our souls and strengthens us for our journey. As we depart singing “There’s a Wideness in God’s Mercy,” we are reminded that God’s compassion knows no limits, inspiring us to trust in His boundless love and extend that same mercy to others.
