The Ascension of the Lord

May 16–17, 2026

Music Reflection

As we celebrate the glorious Ascension of our Lord, our music ministry leads the faithful into a deeper encounter with Christ who ascends to the Father, yet remains with us always.

“Praise to the Lord” joyfully opens our celebration, lifting our hearts in worship to the King of Heaven and Earth. The Responsorial Psalm proclaims triumph and glory: “God mounts his throne to shouts of joy.” Christ reigns victorious, calling us to rejoice with heavenly praise.

Through the Gospel acclamation, Jesus gives His final mission: “Go and teach all nations.” As disciples and ministers of music, we are reminded that every song we offer becomes part of proclaiming the Good News.

At the offertory, “One Sacrifice of Christ” brings us to Calvary and the Eucharist - the perfect offering of Jesus that unites us as one Church. In Communion, “One Love Released” reminds us that Christ’s love continues to flow through His Body and Blood, strengthening us to live our faith.

As “Amazing Grace” fills the silence of meditation, we reflect with gratitude on God’s mercy that continues to guide and transform us. Finally, “Go Make of All Disciples” sends us forth with the mission of the Ascension: to evangelize, serve, and bring Christ’s love to the world.
