  SCHOOL OF RELIGION NEWS                                   

CLASS RESUMES TODAY for School of Religion.

Today the students in Kindergarten through grade 3 and grades 9 to 12 will participate in the CHILD PROTECTION PROGRAM required by the USCCB.  ONLY STUDENTS WITH A SIGNED PARENTAL PERMISSION SLIP WILL BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM.  Parents are invited and encouraged to attend the presentation.

YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS

Today is the YOUTH GROUP’S ANNUAL SPAGHETTI DINNER from 1:00 to 5:00 and after the 5:30 p.m. Mass.  Stop by the Parish Hall for a delicious meal of spaghetti and meatballs.  We also offer “to go” meals.  Proceeds benefit the High School Youth Group’s trip to the Steubenville Atlanta Youth Conference.  

WYN (Wednesday Youth Night) is this Wednesday, February 22nd.  This is Ash Wednesday, so we will meet in the church to celebrate Mass together and then go to the meeting room in St. Anna’s House for a light dinner and activities.

PASSION WALK 2012.  Practice for the Passion walk begin next Sunday, February 26th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall.  We need more YOUTH and adults to participate in the Passion Walk this year.  Please contact Deb Farabaugh at 770-267-0420 or deborahf@windstream.net if you would like to be involved!

You’re invited to participate in Catholic Relief Services’ OPERATION RICE BOWL  This Lent, the students in the School of Religion will be joining millions of Catholics across the country by participating in CRS’ Operation Rice Bowl.  Catholic Relief Services’ Operation Rice Bowl invites us to pray with our families and faith communities, fast in solidarity with those who are hungry, learn about our brothers and sisters around the world, and give sacrificial contributions to help those in need.  Additional rice bowls are available in the back of the church for any parishioner wishing to participate in Operation Rice Bowl.  





St. Valentine’s Dance was fun for young and not so young alike!  The Porquez Upper Room was filled with people, music and lively conversation. Our genuine thanks to all who planned and prepared for this wonderful evening together.

St. Anna’s welcomes ALLEN HUNT! 
The Man, The Meal, The Mission: 3 Nights to Create Your Best Easter Ever!
Allen Hunt, a once mega-church pastor, now Catholic Nationally syndicated talk radio host, is coming to St. Anna’s! Allen is joining our parish to celebrate our preaching mission and preparation for Lent and Easter. Please join us in welcoming him on February 27th, 28th, and 29th from 7-8pm. Allen Hunt will also be joining us for Mass on February 25th and 26th (excluding Sunday 5:30 Mass). This will be an inspirational event to invite a friend to enjoy with you and spiritual encouragement for the entire family!

Please join the Respect Life Group on Tuesday, March 20th at 6:30 pm for a Mass for the Unborn, followed by a covered dish supper and talk by Dr. Kathleen Ravielle about "conscience".  With the current debate on the HHS mandate, Dr. Ravielle's talk will be very informative.  Dr. Kathleen Ravielle is an advocate of natural family planning and an expert in gynecologic problems related to reproduction, hormonal dysfunction, infertility, and other women's health issues.  She is certified by the American Academy of Fertility Care Specialists.  She has taught couples the Marquette Method of Natural Family Planning since 2001 and has served as the first woman President of the Catholic Medical Association.  She has been a frequent guest on Johnette Benkovic's "Women of Grace" television show aired on EWTN.  All are welcome to attend.  Please bring a dish to share.  Please call Becki Bennett with any questions (404) 731-9441.
