SCHOOL OF RELIGION NEWS

 

The students in the School of Religion are participating in OPERATION RICE BOWL again this year for their Lenten Service Project.  Rice Bowls have been distributed and hopefully sitting on your dinner tables.  Rice Bowls are due back to the catechists on Sunday, March 28th.

 

Our Confirmation candidates will be attending their Confirmation retreat the weekend of March 20th and 21st.  We have 16 youth preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this spring.  Keep our youth in your prayers as they attend their retreat and journey toward the Sacrament of Confirmation: April 17th

 

YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS

 

Please keep our youth and adults attending the Youth Group SKI TRIP in your prayers this weekend.  They will be returning from Maggi Valley, NC today. 

 

PASSION WALK practice is this Wednesday, March 10th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. 

 

WYN (Wednesday Youth Night) is this Wednesday, March 10th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.  Join us for pizza and fellowship with other youth from our parish.

RCIA PRESENTATION Tuesday, March 9th , 7:30pm in the Church: Prayer and study presented by Jay Sobczak.

 

ACES March Activity will be on Saturday March 20th.  We will meet at the church at 8:30 am, have a light breakfast, then car pool to the Atlanta Civic Center and see "The Passion Play" starting at 11 am.  We only have 15 tickets so if you want to go, please mail Beverly (770-207-0261) a check in the amount of $10 to reserve your place.

 

Christians throughout Atlanta are invited to take part in the International 40 Days for Life effort from February 17 through March 28.  In addition to 40 days of peaceful prayer and fasting for an end to abortion, please come with Fr. Dan and others from St. Anna's on March 13 to travel to an abortion facility in Atlanta for an hour of prayer.  We will be meeting in our parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and leaving at 8:45 a.m.  The prayer vigil will be from 10-11 a.m.  Please join us.  If you have  questions , call Becki Bennett: (404) 731-9441.

 

Catholic Relief Services’ Southeast Regional Office and Catholic Charities Atlanta’s Parish & Social Justice Ministries are hosting a Parish Partnership Twinning Workshop on Saturday, March 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas in Alpharetta. The workshop is geared towards parishioners already involved in a twinning relationship. Specifically, the workshop will identify and share best practices and offer insights on how to improve cross cultural communication and increase parish particiapation.
