Come one & all to our MINISTRY FAIR!

I try to tie this letter to the readings of the day and events in our parish.  The Gospel reveals Jesus “commands unclean spirits and they obey him”.  The Creed we profess at Mass begins “I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.”

President Abraham Lincoln ended his inaugural address with “when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature”.

The “better angels of our nature” is a helpful phrase. A cartoon picture of a good angel on his right shoulder vying for Popeye’s attention with a bad angel on his left shoulder may come to mind!  But, if we take our profession of faith in “invisible things” seriously the better angels of our nature will tug at our conscience.  Really.
When you hear the invitation to “
Come one and all to our MINISTRY FAIR!”, do you hear the Lord’s call to serve? From a spiritual perspective that is what is really going on!

People’s “invisible” responses will vary from Annoyed to Bored to Interested to Enthusiastic!  Every one of us is, in spirit and truth, being called by our Lord to come and serve others. If you listen to the “better angels of your nature” you will respond, saying “Yes, Lord your servant is listening” and follow His call to serve in your own way…....

While at the Fair consider the following ways to serve:
